Anyone have insight as to how these Warranties work?

Edelbrock E-Force supposedly comes with a 3/36,000 powertrain (engine, trans, rearend, etc) in force from vehicles in-service date and not the FI install date.

Whipple, I think, you can purchase a warranty, but unsure how much or what it covers. And they may still be working on the details.

I assume:
1) You must buy from and authorized reseller
2) I think you have to get it installed by an authorized installer.

But then, if there is a problem, who says it is a covered repair and who does the warranty repair?

I believe Roush and FRPP can work through the dealer if the dealer does the install around vehicle delivery so the warranty work is probably by the dealer.

Just like any other 3 party warranty they pay based off book times and MSRP on parts notion crazy they pay the dealer via credit cards

After 20 years of moding cars and dealing with and getting tired of Dealer's rejecting/fighting Warranty issues, I'm much more leaning towards cars that are F/I built from the factory and has Warranty after all the money spent.

Cars to consider (in no specific order):

Challenger Hellcat (Manual)
Upcoming ZL1 (Manual)
Upcoming GT500 (Manual) (Hopefully it will be TT)
GT350
Focus RS

Even 1 mod to any off them puts you back in them same situation. You need a mod friendly dealer service manager:cheers:

Things are changed now... For example a reputable GM dealer explained to me how GM is changing the whole Warranty and how dealers are no longer in a position to make any decisions on Warranty. A specific online report (he showed me) is filled, submitted to GM and GM's Warranty underwriter will then accept or reject the Warranty request. That's the only way dealer gets paid for the work and parts. I'm very sure Ford and Dodge are or will soon be following this.

If you're rejected, no other dealer will honor it, UNLESS they're willing to pay for the warranty from their pocket and not get paid from manufacture.

He told me, if a dealer says "We'll honor it", have them put it on the paper what and how long they will honor.

Things have definitely changed warranty wise but I cant tell you first hand Ford is not like that. Will it be down the road that's hard to say. There are many hoops that need to be jumped through regarding warranty but in Ford the Service manager makes the calls. That's a fact

Let me tell you a story...
A few years ago, I had put a S/C on my car. About, six months later, when the driver side window was down, it would rattle and make noise. I took it to dealer and dealer said, they can not inspect and/or fix it under warranty, because "The extra power added from the S/C, could have caused this problem"

I said, ok open it up and I'll pay for it. The tech opened the covering to find out a small rubber had simply come off that could have happened to any car with or without S/C. He put it back in and there was NO Charge.

This just to tell you how they denied me right of the bat, for a rattle and blamed it on S/C. This shows the idiots you're dealing with at the dealership.
