A question to anyone who has installed an aftermarket cat-back exhaust.

Assuming you had it installed by a third party, how did you get the factory exhaust back home ?

My understanding is that the factory unit is a single piece of metal, and therefore unlikely to fit in the boot of the Stang !

Would it fit in the back of a small van, or would it need to go on a roofrack ?

Thanks in advance !

see my thread (Jury's first mods) - for a photo of the complete removed OEM unit. for the scale - the complete unit basically stretches from the gear box to the pipes at the rear of the car.

It is a two man lift and would go into a suitably sized Transit (LWB I would guess)

Personally, I have left the original part at ModUrStang - and am considering on what to do next.....

Mustang: no

Estate car: no

Small van: almost certainly no

Transit-size van: yes

There are two issues. One is the width of the back boxes which stops them fitting into an estate car.

The other is the overall length which means even a small van may struggle.

If transportation is an issue then you should consider doing it yourself at home.

The job itself is an absolute piece of piss but is made a bit easier by being on a ramp. It's a perfectly suitable job to be done with a jack and axle stands.
