So as someone who has not owned a GT, I've always coveted your exhaust note, so deal is they want $$$ for some variable exhaust system on the 2018. Sounds good (no pun intended), hey one can supposedly have a loud exhaust and then again quite quiet. Sounds good to me. But is it in fact a BS option, and will one finding themselves, scraping it for a more roboust exhaust? I put a cat back on my 2011 vette and I find It's quite mild, not turning any heads and sounds quite good at WOT. Should one spend the money on this 2018 GT option? I will be starting the car at the crack of dawn, but at the end of the day f-my neighbors. Really what I'm driving at is, the "max" level if you will on the 2018 or 2017 for that matter, be a really, enhanced note, or does one need to look aftermarket? Probably not going to delete catalytic converters on a new car under warranty, so that's out, and a consideration.

If you're going to mod it, I wouldn't worry about it. If you plan on leaving it alone, I'd definitely consider it. People consider the current GT tame with its sound. I actually like it. You can really enjoy it with windows down, or drown it out with music/talking. It doesn't take over the conversation. I'm assuming this ability to turn it on/off is going to mean the ON is going to be A LOT louder than the current 17...At least I hope so.

And agreed. Screw neighbors.

I'd like to know if the 18's still have the "suitcase resonator", I deleted that on my 16 and it woke up.

I wonder how much weight it will add? When I replaced my stock resonator and mufflers with an X pipe and Roush axle-back, I saved a good amount of weight. I've heard some clips of the new exhaust in loud mode, and it's louder than the 17' for sure, but it still seems fairly tame. I don't think I'd go for that option as I'd want to switch it out for something with more sound anyway. I think about a week after buying my car I had already ordered the Roush muffers.

I am excited to see what the new active exhaust option sounds like with that section replaced.
