Or this ;-) [Picture]
Immediately reminds me of that soap holder tray in my shower that spontaniously decides te drop off every other week. I would never trust such a system unless you like trying to pick up your front plate from the highway.

huh, interdasting...

I was of the impression (from the press photos and such) that the Mustang came with it's own license plate "spot" in the front - I guess not?

For my purposes the plates are 52x11cm... I need to look into this :) Especially if my dealer is going to drill in my grill (or bumper rather).

With only one bolt holding this thing together (and taped to the car) I would worry about side to side "rocking" - some protection on the end sides would be good maybe? Especially to cover the end of the "rivets" or screws or whatever holds the plate on.

Not sure where our license plate holes are or if we need to drill them ourselves... all cars these days have these plastic mounting frames with your dealers ad on them... :D

The Eurostang comes with no pre drilled holes on the front, only 2 on the back. Just in case, better warn your dealer not to drill...

For sure you'll have to mount (glue) it very close to the bumper (Pichon will add rubbers in between to protect the bumper). Rubbers at the back of the little screws to fix the plate could be interesting as well.

Reagarding the end side protection, not sure I understand.

yep... by end sides I actually meant the backside of the left- and rightmost part of the bracket... as the prototype I saw pictured only had rubber padding in the middle.

Seems new license plates up here comes without any holes at all and aren't screwed on cars - instead the plastic framing is screwed on the car and the plates seem to be "snapped in" place?!!

Looks good but you have to drill 2 holes in, agreed, a non visible location, would prefer no holes at all.

So if PIchon's tests with John work out ok, I'll go for his solution.

And I'm afraid :frusty: we still have plenty of time for the tests...
Looking closely it would seem that the bracket mentioned uses tape to attach to the bumper.

No drilling needed though, both brackets go on with 3M tape

Installation guideline :
With a Phillips screwdriver, secure the bracket to the underside of your bumper using the supplied stainless steel pan-head self-tapping screws. It is important to use these screws, as the double side tape alone may not provide sufficient grip under some conditions.

Price with freight is € 69,-

My mistake, just noticed this bit! Ok plan B, just in case the car shows up at 1/8 after all... which I highly doubt but anyway:shrug:

I wonder if it would be possible to mount the included bracket from Ford with 3M pads as a temporary solution.

You could take one of these.

http://www.nummerplaat.nu/prodnl.php

the 'onzichtbare nummerplaathouder zonder boord' is the one i'll take for the back I think. You might use it as temp with the right 3M tape : 5952 VHB. With inox screws, anti vibration kit you'll end up at a ridiculous € 8,-

Just noticed that the tesla around here have the 'same' bend in the bumper as the stang - and they bend the license plates so it suits me flush all over... How easy do these steel plates bend?!
