So this week the Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) finally appeared on COTUS for me: 11/28. I haven't gotten a build day/week yet, but I did get my VIN on 10/16.

For those who had their EDD posted and subsequently took delivery - what was your experience with the "estimation" piece of this? Did your car arrive earlier, later?

I'm asking because I was really hoping my car would arrive at least 2 days before Thanksgiving so I can go on a 14 hour road trip home for Turkey Day. Being that I live in Michigan, just 2 hours north of Flat Rock, what are the odds I take delivery earlier than 11/28?
Not sure I'd take a steady speed road trip until you have it broken in with city driving. Can anyone tell me why you're not supposed to break a car in with steady speeds? I really don't know.

When I broke in a custom built boosted engine, it was highly recommend that the first 25-50 miles where driven as follows: first and second light accel, then 3rd light pull to 3/4 of the powerband and let the car decel while in gear (vacuum sucks the piston ring debris on the cylinder walls). Repeat 1, 2, 3rd a bit harder this time around. Repeat several times, the do a more aggressive 3rd pull and continue to a 4th gear pull. Don't punish the engine, just gradual increments. The idea behind it is to take advantage of the cross hatching on the piston walls, they work as a file that helps mold the rings. After this period, the hatching is not as effective. I did this method on a 4g63 that produced 650 bhp at 33PSI which lasted well over 25k miles before parting it out to be sold.

Interesting info. This seems pretty legit, I shall try it once my car arrives (hopefully in the next week or 2!)

My count went to 0 and my EDD was today and now it all disappeared. Still in transit
My count at 0 today. EDD tomorrow, 11/07. Production complete 10/14. Still shows "awaiting shipment". Have not seen any changes with respect to count or EDD on COTUS. My dealer states they have a "stock number" assigned which means they should see the vehicle within 2 weeks "typically". Ford Service states that it has not shipped, but nothing to worry about. Would be nice to know really what's up. Oh well. And, like a bunch of us....the wait goes on......:headbonk:.

My EDD went from 11/07, 0 days left this morning to delivered just now! :eyebulge: Say wha...! Haven't heard from my sales guy yet though. Now I'll just be staring at my phone all day, as if checking cotus wasn't enough! Hopefully it's true. Otherwise back to :frusty:. Haha!
