Looks awesome! Any thoughts of throwing a "lick of paint" or powder coat on the bolts for the fuel filler cover--RR or black? I love the way the GT logo looks on the filler cover!

24 Hours In - Death By Carwash

Ford really should include a warning about black painted rims and car washes with tracks that have side guards on them.

Our driver's side rims made it all of 24 hours.

$130/wheel and they're back to normal now. But ouch.

I didn't like the bolts at first. Fortunately, they are true bolts and so can be easily removed, replaced, coated, painted or whatever you need.

With time though, they've kind of grown on me. Having that contrast to the black works (from our taste's perspective). Making them a visual, playing back to old school fillers, works for us.

Going RR could be a cool way of tying it back into the otherwise no chrome look while still keeping the contrast.

What I would warn is the bolts stick through the plastic on the inside and have bits of flash that stick out even further. I was paranoid about it scratching against the hidden but still there paint around the inside. A Dremel cut them quickly down to size. I would recommend taking them out first though - the heat of metal cutting metal, plus the tendency to turn under the cutting, you end up with the bolts not sitting quite flush in a few places.

Don't wanna hijack your build lol, but I see your point. They do give it a sort of old school feel!

Good heads up about the bolts--I saw the photos on AM and wondered about that, but I spent most of my time wondering how I would get them black or RR lol!

Can't wait to see what you guys do with her next!

Tuesday through Saturday, 6 states (AZ, CA, ID, MT, NV, WY), five national parks, 2850 miles and somehow near enough to 25mpg out of a V8.

This follows going out for dinner on the Saturday before, driving from San Diego, CA to Yuma, AZ, for a restaurant chain they don't have in California... then we decided, as we were there, to turn left and drive five hours through lightning and sandstorms to see the Grand Canyon on Sunday morning.
