I've got a blue badge, so at least I get the opportunity to park in bigger spaces (when available)...... Can't wait for the comments when they see a crip dragging himself out of a Mustang GT:rant::rant:

I'm going to be one of those guys who parks it in the far far corner of the parking lot.....(less likely to get scratched but more likely to get nicked!)
I do that anyway, always think of the get out. Often easier to walk right up to the supermarket door than to try and find a space near it, then negotiate your way out afterwards.

"Think ahead,

Park near the exit!"

So Clarkson says the Mustang is 'ginormous' for the UK.

Can't we nail this one shut once and for all? The Mustang is large, for a GT/sports car, but not unique and certainly not ill-fitted for UK roads when compared with many others.

So - the Mustang: Width (inc mirrors) 2080mm. But then, the Mercedes SL is 2099mm. The BMW 6 coupe is 2090mm. Etc. Both GTs.

I won't even bother with the exotic sports cars from Italy for width, but, if it is simply a case of what is suitable for UK roads, then going by the criteria of Clarkson et al, nobody should drive a SUV (which is true, IMO, but not on account of size!). For example, a smaller SUV, like the Jaguar F-Pace, is 2175mm wide. A BMW X3 is 2184mm wide. And so on.

I thank you

John
This is nuts. My Mustang feels almost exactly the same as my XK (which clarkson had no issue with). Haven't looked up measurements but I bet it would be damn close.. Is it a big car, yeah, is it too big, no way. It's a GT so should be big and no issues on tight streets multi story car parks etc.. He probably drives a Range Rover for fuck sake. Clarkson has a hatred for yank cars that he cannot shake. Must have struggled for complaints on this one...

I think it is a big car for some of our roads and parking facilities. However, this applies to pretty much anything bigger than a Focus. Parking spots are far too close together and why do you get foot-high curbs at every multi-storey?

Mate, I'm already thinking where I'm going to park when in Nottingham - as I just don't want the stress of the Lace Market multi-story!
You've then got the "workplace parking levy" they have in the 'Socialist Republic of Nottingham'

My main concern was it looks a big car, till I checked the specs and found it's narrower than my Volvo (I'm old so what do you expect?).
A test drive was all it took to feel comfortable and relaxed in traffic, so I want one.
Now.

Oh and it's my first post so hello everyone.

It'll be the full fat V8, manual or auto, and when the petrol prices go through the roof again, I'll buy a Fiat 500 for domestic duties.
I'm not going to be ordering one, as they are starting to crop up in dealers at list price. I've no interest in paying extra, so the amusingly overpriced examples on Autotrader etc can go to the more impatient/gullible.

What colour? Extras etc.

Fiat 500? I'll be dropping a few hundred on a smart car. Most practical thing ever lol!

Brilliant
Used to get it all the time when I had my Aston:mad:... People would assume because you have difficulty getting around, you must be on benefits, and you certainly don't deserve anything nice, in fact, all you should be allowed is a blue 3 wheeler.....

I didn't feel inclined to explain I'd worked my bollocks off for 30 years, don't smoke don't drink, and saved like mad to be able to buy nice stuff:cheers:
