The exhaust note of the 2.3l had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to go with the ecoboost. Why do the V8ers give a rats @$$ what it sounds like? I ought to put a fart can on mine to give them something else to whine about.
If I were to make a point, it would be close to this, but more along the lines of, people buying an EB are definitely not buying if for its sound. Why even create a sound thread for the EB or V6 to begin with. It's definitely not their strong suit.

Not saying those cars aren't a great option for people, because they are, just not for anything to do with the sound.

:lol:This is so wrong it's funny.

Sound (and styling) are subjective. There is no objective measure. You can never prove the EB doesn't sound good to someone else because it's a matter of opinion, not fact.

I'm not a fan of the sound of a 4 cylinder engine, but many people do like it (and many people like the v6 sound too). To say "people buying an EB are definitely not buying if for its sound" and those peoples' choices are "not anything to do with the sound" is .

If you really believe what you wrote, your world is pretty small.

Here is some more ecoboost sounds, this time on the track.

Sorry if it was posted before. I did a quick look for it.

It really sounds quite nice here for an automatic 4.

I could live with that in a Magnetic Premium PP Convertible.

As an American living in England and Europe in general, just a couple of small points, Ladies and Gentlemen......... 1. Prices of gas/petrol in Europe are ASTRONOMICAL compared to North America and most of the world. Second I drive a 5L V8 M-class Meercedes SUV and a 2L BMW 1 series. Guess which one gets more used in terms of daily usage? Not just in mileage but in terms of common sense. I can name in one hand the number of times I actually could gun the power that's under the V8.... Narrow, curved, tight cornered and filled with road-humps and traffic choke-points, that's what you deal with EVERYDAY you live in large parts of Europe and for me, London. Love the city but oh god! hate the roads....... But also agreed. You don't get a Mustang for the common sense......

Yeah, the sound of the EB is kind of important to the rest of the world. Or maybe what can be done with the sound also. A thread is worthwhile.

The factory exhaust system will by far be the BEST that the EB ever sounds. ANY modification can only go downhill from there. Loud does NOT equal good, especially on a 4 cylinder. That Fiesta ST vid a couple of pages back made me vomit a bit.

GT costs 8k more. deal breaker.

low-mid 20s mileage is pushing it for me, so the small difference in the V8 is big enough for me.

Consider the EB an upgraded V6 with the low end torque its been missing

I dont mind the sound downgrade. driven 4 bangers all my life and Ford makes the best sounding ones hands down. fine with me

All that being said I would Def get the GT if I had the income
