Going to my first event this weekend. Anything I need to be mindful of? I am not certain how the ecoboost does in an autocross event. I do have an A10, PP, & mag ride. I can't wait to post results.

The main thing is that you'll be spending a day in the sun and weather, so be prepared with sunscreen, food and water if you need it, a hat, sunglasses, and some shoes you can walk a good distance in and can run in for short sprints.

Clean the car out of any junk or loose items, you don't want anything in there that isn't tied down. Empty the trunk if you have a spare tire back there.

Bring a tire pressure gauge if you have one. They should have some air inflators on-site. If you have an electric or battery powered air inflator, bring it. Make sure your wheel lug nuts are properly tightened and that your engine oil isn't low. Showing up with at least 2/3 to 3/4 tank of gas is a good idea.

Bring some wide masking painter's tape for marking your numbers that is a high contrast to your car color. No medium blue on a medium red car, etc.

Give the tires a few extra PSI to start with in the morning.

Like with most things, don't expect to do very well on your first outting. Its a tough sport which is 90% driver, despite it seeming like the cars should be a huge factor, and most people are just not very good when they start trying it.

Be persistently friendly with the experienced competitors, and try to get rides with as many of the experienced competitors as you can.
