All models, now all areas--- not just warm climates. The chances of a problem are statistically minute. 2 occurrences from thousands of Ford vehicles

Ford is expanding a recall to add 1.5 million more vehicles that need to be brought into dealers to fix doors that can fly open while the vehicle is being driven. And it said it will take an earnings hit in the third quarter as a result.
The automaker said it is taking the action at the request of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. With the addition to another recall over the same issue last month, almost 2.4 million vehicles will be under recall for the issue.
The recall is going to cost an estimated $640 million bite, Ford said. As a result, it said it is having to lower its third quarter adjusted pretax profit to about $10.2 billion, down from $10.8 billion.
The recall involves a potentially defective part in the doors called the pawl spring tab, which can break. If it does, the door will not properly close and "a door that opens while driving increases the risk of injury," Ford says in a statement.
Ford says it knows of one accident and three injuries from the faulty doors.
The new vehicles included in the latest recall include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-MAX and Ford Escape, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2015 Ford
