After being put-off by the prices for two-bucket dollies, I found this Dump-Wagon at WM and added a $12 piece of wood and cut-outs with rotary tool. A lot less bending over now and the dump feature makes rinsing out the wagon a breeze...

Did those buckets come with grit guards? I've been using the two bucket system for a long time now, but that wagon is awesome, didn't think of that.
Also don't mean to hijack your thread, but can you or anyone else that has black tell me if they have random specs on their paint randomly that seem like they are in the paint job? I will try to get a picture, just seems like something I can't get rid of :( You only can seem them if you are up close and personal.

No, bought grit guards separately. I haven't see the random spec issue in my paint.

Man, that's a great idea. Lugging bith buckets around is a pain. I may give something like that a try. One tip, I bought one white bucket and one HD orange. The white is my clean bucket and the orange is the rinse water. It helps me keep them straight easily. I've also got a Lowes blue I use for the wheels.

It's rail dust. It comes off with a light buff and rubbing compound.

Cool idea but Wood and Water don't go very well together.

What?! Two buckets? I'm a one bucket and hose pipe guy. Rinse off with hose, lather, rinse, repeat. Wait, no wonder it takes me all day to clean my car. I keep repeating.

One bucket is just water for cleaning off your mit after washing, the other has your soapy solution. Generally you also have a grit guard, a grid with a standoff, in the bottom of the plain water bucket so you can rub your mit against it to knock off the grit and keep the grit at the bottom of the bucket so it doesn't get back on your mit.

Generally you get your soapy solution, clean a panel, or part of a panel depending on how dirty your car is, then you clean it off in the grit bucket, soap it up again and repeat until the car is cleaned. This minimizes the amount of grit/dirt/ETC on your mit as you wash and reduces swirl marks and small scratches in paint. You should also only wipe in one direction, no swirl action!

Of course, I say mit but whatever you wash with. I use a microfiber mit myself. Also, I think some people put a grit guard in both buckets, which is also a good idea. I only have on in my clear water bucket.

Clay bar and iron x, all you need to rid the paint of rail dust. This is the proper way to handle rail dust or impeded brake dust particles burnt into the clear coat.
