Discontinued Colours

I guess this all depends on when the next batch of UK cars will be built. Andy Barratt indicated May was the next slot, but I wonder if order placed NOW would still be fulfilled in that batch, or a later one.

Here's how it breaks down for US ordering, date-wise:

03/04/2016 - 2016MY Fleet Final Order Date
03/24/2016 - 2016MY Last Day to Spec Change
6/01/2016 - 2016MY Job Last Date
04/04/2016 - 2017MY Order Bank Open Date
04/14/2016 - 2017MY Scheduling Begins

It would be nice to see a similar breakdown for the UK timeline.

What I would take from this, and its purely speculation on my part, is that existing orders for the discontinued colours will be MY2016 cars and new orders will be MY2017 (ie they don't expect to build a car ordered today until around August this year when the discontinued colours will be...erm...discontinued.

We have one for the UK:

Okay, jokes aside, logic is somewhat prevailing, i'm not sure of the build dates post May, but Andy has mentioned that they've got more 'slots' for building, May builds should arrive by August (LATEST!), so unless there's not another pickup in building until August, i'd assume we're clueless.
My guess would be that ford UK know their build slots from now until August, and must know that basically, any order from 'today' falls outside of this May build, and therefore, outside of the CO colour period in Hods case.

Or the dealer Hod has gone to is incompetant. :headbonk::shrug:.

I'd be interested in James' response on this when he see's the mention above, (and then reads this), if the case is 'CO is still available' i'm sure James would be more than happy to takeover your order for you Hod - And personally (from most of us here), we'd be more than happy to see you go with a dealer who's putting time and effort in to connect with the fans and to learn about the car and communicate with us, especially after some peoples horror stories with dealers :eyebulge:!

This is amazing, although we shouldn't be surprised. Imagine holding off on your order; finally going in to the dealer; "right hand drive? No, that's been discontinued"!

Ouch, that's a massive bummer for anyone looking for DIB/CO/G colours!

On a plus, yep much 'rarer' colours now. Wonder if any of the three new colours will be another 'free colour' (Maybe Grabber blue?). As RR from pictures has blitzed through the CO in the 'free colour' stadings... that being said, can't tell the difference on pictures :lol:!

I had thought that the discontinuation of the colours was for the Americans only and that we got them for another year.

I am amazed that they have actually integrated the UK ordering system so it "knows" those colours are no longer available for the MY17 cars! I wonder what kind of lead time new orders are getting - the last I heard it was still 8 to 12 months so I guess the MY18 cars aren't so far off.... And maybe sync 3 and who knows what else.

If they start building MY17 cars around August time and there are slots assigned to RHD vehicles then I guess they could be delivered before the end of the year - 9/10 months lead time. MY18 can't arrive til 12 months after that though surely?

I think the MY18 cars will be the facelift so there will be a bit more hype around it.

at the moment MY17 is just 3 new colours. Wonder if there will be any other upgrades. Surely will only be styling and a power bump will be MY18?
