Ding sound from gearbox.

Got V6 6-speed automatic, and when I put D from R, or R from D, I hear ding sound (like quick release steering wheel).
Otherwise, car running great.
What could it be? Or is it normal?
P.S. Engine was recently replaced.

Is it just a ding or more like ding ding or continuously?

Fox body? Aluminum driveshaft will do that with sloppy u-joints or ring/pinion worn out.
