I'm a bit glass half-full myself.

I got to order a V8 Mustang from a Ford dealer with Australian compliance plates at a very reasonable price and I've still got something that is cooler than just about anything on the market. And there are more Aston Martins floating around this country than there are S550 Mustangs.

Despite some compromises, big win I think.

My $0.02 – your milage may vary.
I agree its a great car for the money. But all of us early orders were shown a very different car for the money and that grinds on me.

I notice mine says std duty front springs. Once again is this just terminology and it means it has springs std for the performance pack or does it mean we have Standard springs?
I'm not sure on that side, but Ford Australia makes reference to heavy duty springs in the brochure, so it may just be an error in Etis - it could even be different because it is for an export versus domestic spec level.

If you got all the options that the yank GT PP has you'd be paying much more for the privellage. I think what we have here is great with a lot of the good stuff they get while the price is reasonable rather than over inflated.

Not at all, a common misconception. What was advertised was the US GT PP at that price point.

That is correct, im happy to pay extra for Recaro's and im happy to pay extra for the torsen diff and i would like to get what i have paid for based on what was shown to me at the launch time which turns out to be car with all sorts of different bits and pieced put on it, which does not look like a final product...

What would the torsten diff be worth to import and fit up - should be a direct swap right?
Probably would need speedo recalibrated as a guess. Maybe some other things? Aside from that, probably yes.

Agree. Would have paid extra for some things. Why no options? I would probably want to try the Recaros though as shoulders/thighs are pretty wide these days.

Torsen diff is a great bit of kit. Have seen a video explaining how it works. Would have paid more. Would have paid more for softer plastics like the "Premium" and real stitching on dash. The "stitching" we get is pretty cheap looking.

Now I have mine, can I say that I think Ford spec'd a sensational GT car. Even my Merc loving wife is impressed by the interior quality. Comparing the interior differences I now understand why most journos bagged the interior. I thank them for ticking all the emissions and safety boxes too, that makes me feel better.

I like the 3.55 auto very much. In sport mode she can be a real weapon and cruises by in D and the power is always there, she's fast.

Just a reflash of the PCM with the correct gear ratio and it's all sorted. and yes, if you get the whole pumpkin it'll just bolt in.
