Also ask the dealer NOT to install the front license plate bracket unless you want a hole drilled into the plastic bumper. There is alternate methods of mounting a front license plate that doesn't require drilling into the bumper...
Google for "sto-n-sho" .

Make sure that the hot blonde that comes with it is in the passenger seat and also there should be 4 cases of beer in the trunk.

Check the loan or lease agreement!

I agree with making sure the car is physically pristine, but you do have a warranty. Don't overlook the finance agreement that you are about to sign. The finance person is the last person you will see during the delivery. They will typically take you to a little room or office and have you sign all of the paper work. There will be title and registration docs, dealer sale docs, and they will probably try to sell you service contracts, paint protection, etc. (all worthless crap and pure dealer profit, pass on all of it). Eventually, they get to the most important document, the finance agreement, that is where you buy the car. It is the oversized, multi copy form. Make sure you understand EVERY NUMBER on that form. I have had dealers pull out numbers that were very different from what we discussed during the negotiation. check your payment, # of months, trade value tax, etc. and make sure all of the numbers match what you were expecting. If your payment was supposed to be $400.00 and they say it came out to $422.39 close enough, say bite me, have them reprint the form (which they can easily do right there), that is a difference of $1,343.40 over 60 months. I have trained my family in all of these tricks as well. The "spidey senses" and on guard mode need to be active. They can use your giddy excitement about your new car to get you to sign agreements that you didn't intend. So, after my cynical tirade and almost getting burned, I will say the recent dealers I have dealt with have been straightforward, but they confirm the slicksters are still out there. Oh yeah and after all of that "battle" enjoy the best feeling in the world, taking home a brand new car, and the Mustang is absolutely awesome :)
