Arghhhhh just called FP and my build date has been pushed back from Oct 12th to Oct 26th
But they did says it only take 1.5 days to build.
I didn't know it was that quick.

The big question is how long does it take to ship once it's built ? Do they ship retail orders faster then dealer orders ? Will they ship the GT 350 faster then the run of the mill mustangs ? Are the 350's built as a group on the line ?

This topic I am very intrigued by. Are white bodies (I think thats what other OEMs call them) pulled off the regular production and heads to some sort of SVT dept for production?

The GT 350s are built on the same line as all other Mustangs at Flat Rock, although the GT 350s run down a parallel line for part of the process for the installation of special parts. And, according to Ford Performance at Road America, the GT 350s are not batch-produced; they go into the mix with all the other Mustangs. Keep in mind that the plant is producing 40 or so Mustangs for every one GT 350 it builds.

Hi Spa2k,

do you believe is this the reason on why some GT350s and GT350R are on material hold. I was told my GT350R is on material hold and did not state why. Anyway I do not mind waiting until the early spring to avoid the northeast winter weather by the time they get to my order and start production.

If I'm not mistaken, they are also building the Fusion at the same plant. It may even be on the same line.

My nominee to run any and all government security is Ford Performance. They are even better at not leaking info than the D-Day invasion team. Not only don't we know what the problem is that is causing a delay in delivery, WE DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM OR A DELAY! What fantastically tight lips. I say turn over any national security info needing complete secrecy to them and sleep soundly at night.;)

Well some of us want to trade in a car and each month that goes by are cars decrease in value. I might just trade now and get by with one car.

Eh, every month that goes by I just gain more equity in my Boss. But if yours is paid off, I can see why you'd be anxious about them potentially dropping.

Fortunately I locked in my trade amount regardless of date delivered. Signed on the dotted line, but my dealer is only saying very generic replies now. Went from very detailed info to very generic info.

Something is obviously up. Maybe they are secretly adding 50 horsepower to stay ahead of the new super fast, super lightweight new camaro.

I think this comment was in jest, but yeah, there's zero financial motivation for them to do further development on a car that's probably very nearly sold out for its first year. Also, that would require getting re-certified and going through another year of testing and quality checks. Those already built 350s would be sitting there for a very, very long time.
