The big GT badge on the black rear panel is welded on. I pulled the panel and ground the melted plastic pins off to remove the GT badge. I'll use double side adhesive tape to put it back on. Taking that rear panel off is PITA. four screws under two black covers on each end and then a bunch of snap metal clips along the top. Be careful there is a plastic bracket along the bottom in the middle that you have to slide the panel down to disengage.

You shouldn't have to remove your GT badge. Me and my buddy used masking tape to paint the GT badge. Here is how it turned out.
