Dealer prep?

Have not purchased a new car since 1996.... What all is involved in the dealer prep before we pick up our new mustangs?

I'm afraid "dealer prep" is going to mean prepping the tires and the clutch... if you know what I mean. Especially if you're ordering from an out-of-state dealership like I am.

Only dealer 'prep' I see them do is bad stuff to the car
My thoughts
1) Insist they dont wash your car. Dealers are notorious for leaving deep swirl marks on the new finish thanks to their terrible automatic car washes. Many swirls are so deep that they cant be easily polished away (and who wants to polish a new car anyway!!)
2) If you live in a state with front license plates, if you want, you may consider asking them not to drill license plate holes (and chose to carry the plate in the trunk or dash).

Hopefully the dealer has gotten it out of their system with the stock orders by the time our customer orders come in. I'm hoping by the time mine comes in they have already played with Line Lock with ANOTHER GT that was a stock order and won't feel the urge to do it to mine. I plan to do everything I can to be there way before it arrives... even if I have to take leave from work for the day. From the sound of it it's best to tell the dealer to just unloaded it and that's it!!! don't wash it, don't touch it, don't drive it, don't even look at it too much!

Dealer prep involves removing the plastics from the seats, installed front license bracket, filling out emissions sticker paperwork, you are supposed to test drive and verify fluid levels, install any add on items with vehicle(wheel locks, floor mats, chin splitter, ect), then a wash and vac through the detail department.

If you go to pick your new car up and the little tire tits are worn off, I would be pissed!

most tires no longer have the little "tits" like they used to.
Tire manufactures figured out that if they didn't put them on it can save them millions in material.
Perelli doesn't put them on the p zeros.
im not sure about the other tires that will come on the other wheel packages

Really? I could have sworn the Pirellis on my 2012 F150 had them. That was the easy way to tell if it was still new or not, damn.

I will be there the day mine shows up, and in the car on the test drive if not driving. Maaaay let them wash it depending on how dirty it is and if they have a touch free set up...

When I took delivery of my Raptor, they let me drive it without a salseman to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I'm certain when I take delivery of the 'Stang it will be the same way.

As much as I'd prefer not having a front plate, I'd certainly not wish to have the plate in the windshield. To each their own I suppose.

Those little tits are where the rubber is injected into the tire mold. Current tire production tooling still has these. Some tires may have fewer or have them hidden in the tread pattern.

will they be annoyed if I ask them not to install any accessories (mats/locks) or remove plastic or do anything to the car without me being there?
