I have issue with installing the Thinkware F770.

The dashcam works but not the parking mode.

At the beginning I had the red cable on fuse 2 and yellow on fuse 23 but the dashcam could never be turned on even if the car was started.

Then I swaped the cables, red on fuse 23, yellow on fuse 2. It works when the ignition is on but parking mode doesn't work.

So I thought my fuse was broken so I swapped it with another of the same type (brown color). Still doesn't work.

Now the cable is on fuse 24. Somehow, I heard the music of the dashcam but it switched off for no reason after the music.

Do you know another fuse number should I can try ?
It's definitely fuses 2 & 23 - from memory its 2 for constant power & 23 for accessories.

I had mine professionally installed so don't know anything more than that - HybridGT is a self-installing M6G Thinkware pioneer, so he may be able to offer some advice.

Have you turned parking mode on in the settings? I formatted my F750 memory card the other day in my computer and found a bunch of settings to turn on/off

It works now, thanks :)

I think the wiring was not wrapped properly to the fuse

What's your setting for the parking mode ? I set it to 12V and 24V if I remember

I don't recall this issue being mentioned b4.
I have fitted a Thinkware F770 dashcam with rear camera. All worked fine while driving locally on smooth sealed roads.
A week later drove on some ordinary coarse gravel sealed roads and started to detect an annoying rattle coming from the dashboard. Sounded like it was behind the air vents centre of the dash.
Put up with it for a while and then decided to pull the dash apart. Had some difficulty trying to remove the aluminium trim so put it on hold. Luckily I did, because the rattle was coming from the dashcam. The problem is the camera function buttons are rattling in the plastic case of the camera.
As I purchased the camera from UK, decided it was not worth mucking around sending it back.
Pulled the camera apart and fixed it by insulating the buttons with some very thin foam packing. I would not recommend anyone try opening the camera as it is not easy to open. I learnt the hard way as I broke the corner off a circuit board. Didn't affect the operation. Also the memory card slot now doesn't sit straight in the case slot. Just got to be careful inserting the card. Sometimes the card doesn't make contact with the card socket connections.
I believe Thinkware have now sorted the problem with the latest version.
I am not happy that they are retailing a product that is obviously still on the market.
If anyone wants to research this issue, check out some dashcam sites in the UK, there are some Youtube videos showing the problem.
Hope this helps anyone wanting to purchase a Thinkware dashcam. Make sure you check that the buttons don't rattle before you install.
I still think the Thinkware F770 dashcam is an excellent dashcam. If I had to buy another camera it would be Thinkware!

I've not experienced it yet. Having said that, I'm fortunate enough to have decent roads around here.

Yes Drewbo the roads around Sutherland shire are reasonable. Lived in Miranda most of my teenage years.

I live in Southern Highlands, there are some pretty crook roads around here.

You were the person that prompted me to buy the cam on a discounted Ebay special.

My 770 gets the rattles going but I thought it was the unit vibrating against the cradle as you hit the bumps. Drew the roads over Tom Ugly's bridge heading toward the city with the seams in the roads every 10 metres or so........ You experienced it?

Don't worry most f770 units do that
My buttons rattles too, it's a design / manufacturing flaw. Can't do much about that, other than that the dash cam is excellent!

No.

I do my best not to leave the Shire as I might catch something, although I'll give that a go tomorrow as I absolutely must travel to Ramsgate.

Heck, I'll even post the footage!

So I did the Tom Ugly's run this afternoon.

Whilst I can't hear much vibration from the driver's seat, the mic on the dashcam definitely picks it up when hitting the bumps.

Have uploaded to YouTube, but it's stuck at 0% processing so will post the video when it's done.

On another note, what program do you guys use to edit your dashcam videos prior to uploading? I was recommended RegistratorViewer (just to cut them down), however it absolutely destroys the audio quality.

When I put a dashcam for the first time in my wife's car and I previewed the footage, the first thing that came to my mind was - what happens if someone breaks the glass and steals the dashcam? They can listen to your conversations for X many days backwards. Off I went and disabled audio...

Or even worse, they get my full rendition of Bon Jovi's greatest hits  probably best they don't steal it then

October compilation is out.

Following on from the insurance thread, anyone considering a budget insurer for their 'stang should watch this just before making their decision.

We share the road with these morons.
