My pleasure mate.

I must sound like a Thinkware ambassador sometimes, but it really is a good piece of kit.

Strongly consider the polarising lenses too - they make a world of difference.

Thanks Drew, ordered the filters from that french guy :headbang: expensive little shitters but sounds like they are worth it. I was reading feedback from an Aus guy saying his fell off and is lost in his vent... Just need to be sure they sit nice and tight.

My Thinkware is being fitted tmrw so will check back through the thread for tips.
The main ones I've picked up so far is to not use Samsung cards in them and adjust the voltage for the parking mode to avoid a flat battery.
It's being fitted by a Thinkware dealer so I'll drill him for info.

Cheers

Please do John, I will be fitting mine when we get our car in a couple of weeks and would love to know any details.

One thing to find out please.... I have orderd fuse piggyback links that allow you to replace an existing fuse with a double fuse holder that you can tap into a power circuit without cutting any wires. Would you mind checking with the fitter of yours if thats what he does and also what circuit he taps into?

Cheers mate  would really appreciate that!

Thanks Allan, I'll double check but it seemed like a snug fit.

In the vent? That's some horrible luck.

Most of us have used fuses 2 & 23, Allan - 2 for constant power & 23 for accessories.

Some of the early hardwire kits from Thinkware had the cables labelled incorrectly (in reverse), so if you encounter any issues that could be the reason.

I was just about to say the same thing regarding wires wrongly marked. Also used fuses 2 and 23.

That seems to be the latest trend for Sydney drivers. I've seen it with increasing frequency over the past year. At least your one acknowledged it and reversed. A lot I see near work honk you and/or give you the finger for not letting them go. Even had one guy go absolutely mental pounding his steering wheel and screaming because I went so close to his car but what did he expect when he was half a metre over the dashed line? Gave me a damn good laugh. Wish I had a side facing camera.

That's some good irony... sticking a car's nose out to traffic and then going aggro that it might get damaged!

Sorry Allan

Had a little SNAFU this morning - took the GT in, old mate comes out and has a look inside - advises that it's going to be about 4 hours work with a $500 pricetag.

Not about to pay that much - will organise it to be done next time I'm down in Sydney, gotta be cheaper right?

Sufficed to say we didn't chat about fuses, I was in a bit of shock.

Cheers

J

What a thieving bastard!

I used this bloke, was $200 for my Thinkware F770 dual cam set up.

Took less than an hour and he didn't wreck anything.

Yeh my 770 install was quoted to cost $220. Which was 2 hours work at $110 each. But then they gave me a fairly good discount cos the guy who worked on it was my friend. Won't say how much but was pretty good. So yeh $500 is a blatant rip off.

Car Kit charged me $200 per install for 2 vehicles and threw in one of the power magic kits for free.
They came to the house, nice neat install as well.

I have some OEM grade dashcam installed for a few months. Havent got time to share them yet.

Low light/Night vision is great and cam sets up a WIFI hotspot and has an APP to view/config/control cam + download/manage media

Price is less than AUD200.
