Back from my earlier sports car days, solid driveshafts were something only serious competitors did. Mainly because the car was pretty much unusable due to vibration and noise. Granted, lot of those guys had cams that cause significant lope, solid or extremely stiff mounts, and a whole bunch of other stuff that improved performance but offered nothing as far as user comfort.
Fast forward to today, I am seeing a whole bunch of claims about no NVH on solid driveshafts. Saw quite a few threads on here with mixed results, some saying it is horrible and other saying it is fine. Found one in particular that was interesting that said if you do the driveshaft, upgrade the half shaft (which seems reasonable, no idea why you would do one without the other) or you will get vibration.
So I guess my question is how aggressive can you get with your car before a solid driveshaft is the final straw as far as drivability. I currently have some of the most aggressive springs and shocks you can drive on the street along with some chassis stiffening and anti-hop products. I have aftermarket wheels to help put more rubber at the corners.
I'm seriously considering forced induction and realize stock will likely not survive long forcing an upgrade as I may track the car from time to time. Power level is a key part here. If building everything up to survive the stress of a high power engine makes the car horrible to drive, then I don't want that level of power in this car. If putting a carbon fiber driveshaft and 850+ halfshafts offer minimal NVH and the ability to crank up the power, I'm all in.
