Why is August the favorite time of the year for Europe to go on summer vacation?

US summer vacation for schools is spread out along June/July/August, so plenty of time for people to go at different times.

It does differ in EU as well. In Sweden, for example, the kids finish school in June and are back as of now. In the UK and Germany, they finish in July and are back in September.

Every year schools cut time from the beginning and end of summer, in the US. When I was a kid; school ended on the last weekday of may and started on the first weekday of September. Labor day always affected First day of school. Now my kids ended in June and are getting ready to go back at the end of August. My oldest already has Football (American) practice.

I'm sure Italy and Spain are close to the same as UK and Germany. A lot of my international piers seemed to disappear in August.

Your dealer can do that, it's a standard option in the IDS diagnostic software application that every Ford dealer has. I had mine shut off before I took delivery.

This is also already possible but requires a custom file to be installed via IDS. More info here:

My dealer tried to disable seat belt warning, but since they are incompetent they onle were able to remove the driver warning. I still have the passenger warning, and they didn't know how to do.. :ninja:

The link you mentioned refers to double honk when exiting from car with engine on. I want the single\double honk when locking\unlocking the car, like all US cars do :)

Italy usually goes on vacation mostly on august because factories and plants are always closed on august. Most people works there, or has its spouse that work there. Who work in governative places like me can go on vacation all year round  Also now it's the best time to be in office: air conditioning always on and no people coming to disturb us :D

I don't see the Point in having the car honk when opening. It's already annoying when you let the engine on to remove the ice from it in the winter and it's honking every time you Close the door...

But the EU actually puts the foglight-drl off everytime you set the turn Signal. this is caused by the ECE Regulation, which state that the drl has to be off or dimmed when turning if the distance between them is less than 40mm. :headbonk:
Good Thing, we don't have to care anymore once tribars are DRLs

I mainly want the double honk when closing, so pushing the lock button in the mall parking I can identify the car even without seeing it :D

It has to do with people leaving the car running in garages and suffocating them. The car turns off after a few minutes if the key isn't present. But if the key is present inside the car then it should stay on.

Ford trying to protect itself against stupid.

For some reason or the other this trick to disable seat belt warning doesn't work on our cars, tried it like 10 times already...

What Ive been told is that this should work on all Fords, but I can't seem to get it to work

Already tried, no luck. But there is an explanation: in US manual there is the procedure to disable seat belt warning, while in EU manual it says "contact your dealer to disable this warning". As always we have less freedom.
But my dealer is so stupid that they are not able to do anything...

With mine, it was no problem... Disabled first day I got the car. For all Fords the same way indeed.
Strange it doesn't work with yours

I've checked the packages and the settings for the new mustang 2017 :p and I do like a lot the grill setup of the "pony Package" :p

what you say? :)

There also seem to have a lottttttt of new options... :p but the mixing of options is totally bad... if you want something extra, you have to delete the package you add before, etc...
