I am not gonna start an argument with you guys but I checked yesterday evening my seats during a short drive ... they cool as well as heat...
Cooling is not everywhere but I cannot recall they put this somewhere that is was cooled on the bottom and back or am I mistaken?
So if you get a refund it should be only a fourth ;-)
Or did I also miss a part.
If so then we will all have to take action

But they all work like that...F150 has the same problem...man, it's a cheap car...honestly seats in my other cars(same price range) are no better.
Not up here. I get Porsche and BMWs cheaper...

(through no fault of Ford though :D)

then again... gas is €1.86/l... :'(

Yes they should:

There is a huge thread in US section with thousands posts complaining about that. People opened the seat and there are two cooling devices, one in the bottom (that mildly works) and one in the back (that poorly works for some minutes and then start heating).
If you use for some time, the back of the seat seems to start burning... so Ford released a TSB that solves the heat issue (getting fire while trying to cool your a$$ is not good), but does nothing to have cooling to work decently.

There is indeed a little bit of cool air coming from the seat bottom, but the system doesn't work even closely as advertised. I thonk a lot of people just accept it because they love their car so much, but it still makes perfect sense to complain about it.

I have Recaros myself, so for me it's not applicable. Obviously you can't expect 1800 euro seats to be heated or cooled. Or electrically adjustable for that matter.

Yes, as covered above.

The seats are 100% advertised as cooling over the whole seat. Now, with the benefit of hindsight and seeing how the seats work, this is never going to be possible. Ford are stupid to advertise it like that..

On my seats, the lower section below your legs works quite OK, it feels nice and works to an acceptable level.

Originally on the upright section, the motors on mine would get so hot that the seat actually felt hotter than when using seat heaters! On a nice summers day, this is total BS, and would actually make my back sweaty.

I had the US TSB applied in October, and this brought the benefit that the upright section is no longer 'super hot', probably its more like neutral now - but still definitely no cooling.

I find it pretty annoying as I really loved the idea of having a cooled seat, and if I had known they would be so shit, I would probably have taken the Recaros.

Normally, after the first fix I wouldnt have complained, but due to the initial shitty attitude of Ford with regard to the under-seal I decided to chase both things at the same time.

NB. About two weeks ago Ford released an official EU TSB for the seat cooling, but my VIN didnt fall within the range. Worth asking at your dealer if you are having issues though.

Thanks for the info about the EU TSB.

Me too. The only good reason to have electric adjust is if you have memory seats, so you can recall a saved position and have the nice easy entry\exit function. But stated that we cannot have memory seats and cooling does not work, Recaros would be the best choice.

Went to take fuel first with my Mustang and can do about 500km with a complete fuel tank one or at least that is what the car thinks. Then later I went with my Beamer to fill it up, drove about 100km and was a lot in traffic and still +1000km to go with the fuel that is inside ... and it is not that I am not driving "sporty" with the Beamer maybe sometimes more than with the Mustang ... but now good weather arrives and then the Stang can come out more frequently again during the weekend!
My Mustang is saying about the same as yours. Car thinks a full tank of petrol will do about 500km. Also I've been averaging abut 11-12,1 L /100KM. I've only driven my car about 850 km since I've received her last November. As weather warms up I'll be taking her on longer drives and get her out of the garage. :clap2: I'll be interested to see if the average Liters per 100 km improve. I've been told it should. I also do most of my driving out of the city.

Do you have a link where we can check our VIN or is it only available to Ford dealers? I noticed the heat problem once or twice but never to the point that it would be super hot. I would like to ask my dealer if I am a part of the EU-TSB list.

Sorry, I dont have access.

When I was discussing the refund process with Ford HQ here in NL, they mentioned two weeks ago that they had just released a new TSB (confirmed separately by my local Ford Store).

They offered to apply this to my car, even though its outside of the official VIN range.

I asked them if this would make any difference to my car, because I dont want the seats taking to pieces for no reason - they apparently contacted a technical specialist in the US, who stated that NO, it would make no difference.

So, I of course didnt take it and went for the refund instead.

If your dealer isnt totally terrible, they should be able to look up the TSB action from its description. It definitely exists in Europe now. My dealer even managed to find details of the USA TSB when he really looked.

So you need the US TSB reference to find the EU one? I'll go check for the description in the US forum if it is the case

note that is the US TSB which apparently doesn't change much... I'd rather not them mess with my seats for a 1% increase... (I haven't noticed any heating when using the cooled seats - but my bottom cools too much for me to use for longer periods... well, sometimes :p it seems a bit erratic...)

same here, I use them in summer when it is really hot and when the car was in the sun. So I have just noticed the heating problem once. I usually use only stage 1 or 2. Same for heating I nearly never use the full stage 3.

Checked this morning in my Beamer, which is more expensive than my Mustang, and the heating only comes from down ...
Used to have a previous car where cooling was in the back too.
Checked again the offer and pricelist I had when I ordered and there is NO picture of cooling from back, only there is written heated and cooled front seats ... which is the case.
No I have to check where I can find the list of cars that are affected if I need to go to a dealer for repair.
