Depending on what the color of the paint. Dark colors, not so much. Light colors, definitely will show difference.

Residue is the least of your problem on a black car.
After 5 years unless you always keep her spotless, you will be amazed the amount of swirl marks on the exposed paint vs under the strips.

I have a murdered mustang and I have the 10in racing stripes from AM and I can tell you right now. There's going to be SOOOOOO many more swirls marks around the stripes than under the stripes. Plus they are matte. So don't Scratch them with anything sharp. Like even the squeegee they provide.

If you decide to remove the stripes, the paint underneath the stripes will look newer since it was subject to as much wear and tear as the uncovered paint was. So you'll see that there were stripes there.

But with a paint correction (compound and polish), that should disappear.

I think I would like this stripe but only on the roof, trunk, and rear end of the car. Nothing on the front hood. I'll start with that and I could always add it to the hood at a later time.

Anyone seen that before? :headbang:

Yeah do that and buy a treatment spray for the matte stripes. I go to a place here in Vegas and they already know how to deal with stripes and everything. And watch out when waxing it. Don't go over the stripes with a buffer.

That is going to look very unfinished like you ran out of money to finish the panels.

if you ever remove them, the paint can be polished to make it not noticeable. Now finding somebody that knows how to polish a black car is going to be the real problem!

Nah, a good clay bar and wax should get any left over debris.
