I am sure I am not alone in yearning for a quad tip exhaust. Current aftermarket options are all pretty damn expensive, which leaves me wondering if a custom set up could work out more cost effective.
I don't see why it can't be done for around the $600 mark for a quality axle back system.

I have a Base GT, and think that with some minor trimming of the plastic around the standard single-pipe exhaust, a dual-tip could easily be a squeezed in. No need for changing out the bumper for a premium.

Has anyone out there gone the custom route? Or am I alone in this endeavor?

Would love to hear other peoples thoughts.

Cheers

There have been others. Do a search and you will find some. Good luck on yours.

You can attempt the nerve racking process of trimming the base model. Or, you could get the premium bumper. Good luck nonetheless!

I say cut it. Then if it don't work get a premium.

I don't see cutting the bumper as an issue. Won't need huge amounts hacking off to fit dual tips; just a little bit of trimming is all it would need.

Blitz, that looks stunning! And i'm sure it sounds even better than it looks!?

I'm also a fan of the large square tips, as seen here. This is also an option I am considering having fabricated, since no aftermarket systems I am aware of offer this style on the 6th Gen GT's yet:
