I've been eyeing this kit, I just dont know what is up with the downpipe. Is it bolt on? Does it connect to stock downpipe? Or will something need to be fabricated?

Most pics of the kit that I can find show the same pictures of the pipe, which isnt very helpful.

According to the instructions, you either cut the CP-e downpipe at a certain spot or you buy it precut from them and it slips on to the piece included with the kit.

Weird they wouldn't just make it a full bolt-on downpipe, couldn't of saved that much money. I already have a CP-E downpipe, sucks I'd have to cut it up.

Does this include the wastegate from CP-E, or no?

You will need to buy a Tial MV-R separately. The kit did not come with one.

The 5858 has a pretty similar compressor wheel to the Stage 2+ from Vargas. They both have 58mm inducers.

The 5858 should have a more free flowing hotside though. That combined with it being single scroll will result in a tad more lag.

The new bolt-in Turbonetics/PTE unit is the smaller of the bunch, being like a "5252" if comparing to the normal PTE line.
The 5858 is larger than the Vargas but has a lower power output than the 5862, but it has a better spool than the 5862 witch sits around 4k where the 5858 will be somewhere between 3500 and 3750RPMs which is more usable. It will have more lag than the Vargas but should have a higher max output. The max for the 5862 is around 560HP I think the 5858 is somewhere north of 500 like 520 or so. The Vargas S2 is near the same output as the 5858 but a hair lower. Would have to compare the inducer/exducer sizes. The Turbonetics is a hair smaller as you stated but should make better power overall being a ball bearing unit, should spool a hint faster and being somewhere in between the Stock but much larger and the Vargas makes it a better option as it also has a similar power output rating (round 520HP) in a small package. As always though you will not get there on the stock fuel setup.

I would have gone with the 5858 if I could have gone back instead of the 5862. Power was good, spool bad for a daily.
