Aren't the power controls on the BASE SEAT?
Ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, you could cut off the brackets from the recaros and weld them onto the base seat without swapping the front part of the seat over. I did it this way because it looked like aligning the brackets would be a pain - it was easier for me to just swap them over.

Don't forget to disconnect the seat tilt motor if you do this!

In the Recaros, the bolster support brackets are welded to the tilting part of the seat in the front and the main seat bottom at the back, so the recaros cannot be made to tilt. If you hit the tilt button without disconnecting the motor, you will either burn out the motor or bend the bolster support bracket.

I have been following this thread for a while, and I am now finally starting to prepare everything to begin the conversion. I plan to do the power base conversion as discussed above, and I also want to try to get the heated and cooled seats working. I am not entirely sure if this will be successful, but I will give it a try. I believe I already have all the required parts, so we will see how it goes.

One thing I noticed immediately after removing the seats is that my main harness connectors, C340 and C339, do not contain the 14 AWG wires for 12V and ground, nor for the heated and cooled seat module (Pin 1, 8, 9 and 16). My plan is to add these wires to the original connectors by installing the correct terminals.

I ordered what I believe are the correct terminals from Mouser, along with wiring in the correct OEM colors. Once everything has arrived, I will verify that the parts are correct and will share the terminal part numbers here for reference.
