I am running Nitto Invo tires and the reliability has been great actually. This is the first major issue I have ran into. Of course it starts happening the moment I decide that I am going to buy a 2018. Makes sense :) Car gods are not happy...

This actually just started happening to me last week. I took the car in and they diagnosed it as a weak battery. 300 dollars later, still happening when cold. 2013 GT 130k miles.
I'm sorry...your front tires are popping and they said it was the battery?

This is clearly not the same issue everyone is having. It's an S550 issue.

Havent read the whole thread, so not sure if its been mentioned.

Google "Ackerman angle" or "Ackerman steering"

Its to do with the steering geometry and its not Mustang or even Ford specific.

When the tyres warm up they get a bit more play in them, and the symptoms become disguised.

Its normal and harms nothing.

Dont worry.

I wasn't going to reply to this thread, until I saw the cold temps noted as being 30....seriously, that is a nice day to wash the Mustang.:) Cold is 17 below zero, with snow and yes, the Mustang goes out with Continental Winter Contact SI's. She is garaged, but backing down the drive and a hard left should have produced the noise, based on the comments. I have never heard the popping sound, but I have also had the Goodyear F1's since new, for the other three seasons. It is 26 months old and has 20000+ miles on it.

Hmm. I have had Michelin PSS tires around mid November and noticed this pop happening when I'm reversing out of my driveway and turning full lock at the same time.

Since I put my winter tires on it has not happened since. So it might be that..
