Coil cover replacement, broke clip?

Ok, bought a set painted Coil Covers from MMY at Mustang Week last summer (Great guys, and price!) http://www.modifymystang.com/2011-2017-mustang-gt-coil-covers-paint-matched-with-black-letters/

First of all, they look great and I am super pleased with the outcome. Expecting to buy the Coolant Expansion tank next to match in the Ruby Red.

My question is this, there is a tube going through on the passenger side (very easy to remove) and the driver side. On the driver side I could not figure out how to get that clip to open up until it snapped!

What "is" that tube / clip, can I just buy a new clip? I have it just pushed back on, but not sure if that is "holding" or if it will blow off somehow?

I also noticed right after when I started up the Mustang that I got a puff of oily smoke? I know they are oil separator type stuff, and my guess is I just dislodged some oil in moving them all around?

Should I "clean" the tubes up and/or consider those external oil separator thingamabobs? The Mustang has about 12k on it.

Try the Dorman 6 pack of clips for fuel line connections. The kit had 3 white clips 5/16" and 3 black clips 3/8". The Dorman part number is: 800-023.

That clip looks more square, not as "round" as my original clip?
