Anyone know of a good code scanner that also can read ABS and SRS codes?

One company I'd advise you to avoid is Autel.

I have an Autel AL629 scanner. It's designed to read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes, Anti-Lock Brake System and Supplemental Restraint System codes. The device also has some logging capabilities.

Physically, the device is built well. It's ruggedized, comes with the needed cables and a case. You do need a micro-card reader to transfer files from the unit to a PC, or update the scanner's software.

I connect to Autel and check for updates two to three times a year.

Logically however, I felt the unit fails. The software used to read and interpret Fords has not been updated in several years. For example, when connecting to my car, while it works correctly, the feedback can sometimes be off or dated, listing some fields as "2016" instead of 2022. Other customers attaching to other makes or models have discovered the unit cannot interpret some of the newer devices or systems in their vehicles.

I'm left with the sense that Autel's software will see and understand my car as a 6G Mustang, but some of the more detailed feedback might not display correctly, some fields being a tick off.

While I do have the ability to attach to virtually any make and model, the operator doesn't know how well things are going to work until connected. I can appreciate the difficulty keeping software updated for tens of vehicle makes and their systems.

If considering Autel for a Ford, I'd look elsewhere.
