OK, I'm done for now with the suspension and steering mods and now it's time for a Cobb Accessport and then a custom tune. I bought my car very little used (13K) but it did have some upgrades like the MagnaFlow exhaust. On Cobbs website there is a warning about: Warning! Installation of this Accessport over anything other than OEM or COBB software may result in ECU/TCU failure. Does the Accessport recognize that another ECU modification has occurred? If there is a previous tune how does one delete it? Sorry I'm an old carburetor guy learning new tricks.

Needs to be installed over oem software. First order of business is determining whether your car was tuned when you bought it.

I'm not sure to be honest. If you bought it from a dealer, chances are the ECU is still oem. Have you ever ridden in a stock eco? If you have, the difference between the two is pretty apparent.

OK, let me re-phrase my questions:
Can I check for any brand of tune without going to the dealer? If yes, HOW.
If there is a tune, how can I disable (add your own verb and delete the word disable) it and not cause problems when installing a Cobb Accessport?

My goal:
Install the Cobb Accessport with no problems.

Its going to require hooking up to the OBD2 port either way. I'm not sure what hardware you will need, like if it can be done with a regular scan tool at autozone or what. I would either contact Cobb or a pro-tuner like Adam Brunson or PDTuning and shoot them your question. Its been so long since I first hooked up my AccessPort so I can't remember. @COBB Tuning 's customer service is pretty good, maybe they can chime in.
