hi guys im currently building a 2020 ford mustang GT with this kit from mmr im using a stock shortblock and cylinder heads, now since its already done putting the sleeves on the block im wondering for my ring end gaps i have here the guide from total seal

i have this as my guide (photo)

my question is

my bore size right now is

3.667” 93.1418mm

so to get my top and 2nd ring gap clearances

ill be using the street, strip, circle things

so will be 3.667 x .0045 = 0.16 (ring gap) .016"
i just need to be sure and also what is the rigth clearances to my main and rod journals (im using plastigage)

here are the attach image of the spoecs of the engine

Hot topic.

The ford spec for coyote is .008-.012 top and .020-.030 2nd. They have good reason to run such a large 2nd ring gap so I would stick with that.

For the top ring, I think the .016 is a good number.

Fwiw I believe the cobra jet 5.2 uses .018 for both.

yeah im sticking to .16-.17"
2nd ring is not a problem because my range there will be .24-.26"

hmm what about the clearances on the journals and rod journals

Main spec is about .001-.002 rods are .001-.003 but the ford method for selecting shells is much much tighter. I recommend that because no human with a mic can measure as good as ford.
