Hey all, I'm going to be purchasing the hood tomorrow from chicane23 for around 2k, I was wondering if anyone knew any better deals anywhere else or has the hood and would like to chime in.

The one on Watson is the carbon fiber that needs to be painted. The clear carbon that I posted pictures of is still carbon fiber but it's factory painted so you don't have to for 2k. The carbon fiber one thats gel coated is 1700. The fiberglass gel is 1000

Most modern engines are sealed. As long as the fuse box and air filter element is sealed, you should be fine driving with vented hoods. Although if it is pouring, I wouldn't recommend it but a little rain should be okay.

I would double check your CAI and possibly make an enclosure/ram air system so water doesn't fall straight onto the filter.

I'm also shopping for a hood and can't decide between AC or Tiger Racing hoods. =)
