Chip repair of vinyl?

Am about ready to do over the top vinyl stripes but want to know what you can do when you get a rock chip in the vinyl on the front bumper or hood? I know how to repair chips in paint but what do you do with vinyl?

Peel them off and apply new ones unfortunately

Since they will be custom cut, that's not a good thing. Was going back and forth between vinyl and painted. Now I'm back on the fence. Fixing a paint chip is a cheap and easy DIY proposition.
