Roush power packs

Are these the power packs Ford was supposed to be developing but, according to rumors, wasn't able to get past the CARB standards. Did Roush subcontract to develop them for FoMoCo.

Questions to Roush re: power packs

1. How much does the limited 3yr/36,000 mile warranty cost?
2. What does limited mean? What isn't covered that was covered before in the standard FoMoCo warranty?
3. Do you know about how much the dealer the ECU reprogram will cost the consumer?
4. Why no upgraded intercooler? Was it deemed unnecessary according to your testing results? Is an improved intercooler recommended, if not required, by Roush?

The cost of the dealer depends on where u go, just need an ASE certified tech, from what I heard today this tune is very conservative and exspensive if you want the safety of the warranty. I mean that's the only reason to get it. The tune is the same in all stages, you just get the intake or exhaust added. For $1000 I would go with aftermarket tuner, that's just me

And no intercooler because I don't believe roush makes one yet, these are all roush products and and intercooler is not absolutely necessary at all, it's recommended if you want the best possible performance from these vehicles, and I suggest getting one, because they are amazing

roush power packs

Thanks Buzzer for the information. Your replies were very helpful. Given Roush's take on the intercooler, it kind of makes me wonder if I made a wise decision to order an aftermarket (Mishimoto) intercooler for my stock ecoboost this week when they had the 40% off sale. But then, I recall last summer when it was above 90 degrees and how this engine just kind of went soft on me----moreso it seemed than a normally aspired engine would have at that temp.

"Not approved for sale in California or states requiring California E.O#"

So apparently there are 11 states that have adopted California's emissions standards. So if you live in one of the following 11 states you're SOL for these power packs:

New Jersey
Connecticut
Vermont
Washington
New York
Maine
Rhode Island
Massachusetts
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Maryland
That's not 100% true. I live in Mass and have never had an issue with modifications and have never had to provide a CARB EO number. It's a plug in test no visual. I've passed before while catless with a blower on my old 06 GT.(this was maybe a year and a half ago) As long as none of the readiness monitors are turned off it would pass in Mass.

I just copied and pasted that information from a website i found that gave all the states in the country that adopted California emissions.

Called my local Roush Dealer (Tindol Roush in NC)...wanted to charge me freight shipping and 5!! hours of labor at 98/hr. Cannot fathom this powerpack taking 5 hours in a driveway let alone in a performance shop.

I have installed intakes and exhaust before, but i am an apt dweller so id prefer the exhaust to be welded and also do not own a device to flash ECU.
