Hello All,

After installing my SP080 springs myself (via the method of lowering the subframe) I got a full alignment. Since then, the car is not really driving great.

  • Subtle steering wheel shimmy while braking at low speeds
  • Tramlining issues? The car tends to wiggle around the road sometimes

The rear is higher than I think it should be, so I need to loosen and re-torque all my bushings.

Aside from the bushing issue, does the attached alignment look okay? I really hate the way it drives =(

Also here is a photo of my current rake situation which is also killing me.

I did the install via the subframe method, without loosening all the control arms and whatnot. I have seen the "clock your bushings" thread but have a hard time associating the names of the things that need to be adjusted to what they are visually. Tips would be appreciated.

I dont know if it just doesnt appear on your alignment spec sheet but your profile reads as a Perf Package car and the alignment does not. I think that that matters.

we have lots of members good with alignment specs, lol while Im not one of them, those numbers dont look bad imo, Id personally want -1.5 camber in the rear. FYI rake with the BMR Performance springs is normal, their advertised drop is 1.2"/.5" hence the rake

That makes a lot of sense ... but then in the PP/BMR springs/Spacers thread most cars seem to have a less intense rake?

Honestly your car looks about how it should and that alignment is pretty much right on for spirited street settings. It looks like you have spacers on the car...that would be where your tramlining is coming from mostly.

These cars tramline pretty bad. I had a bad case of it. A better alignment and mostly tires eliminated most of it to where it's not really noticeable anymore. This is a common thing so think and you could improve upon it.

There's also a camber thrust effect. When one wheel loses some of its grip, the camber of the other wheels will try to pull the car with the camber. Excessive negative camber can add to this. I've found that a little less negative camber and a bit of toe in on the front can help and also make the steering feel less twitchy.

I run 1/8" toe out and -2.5* camber in the front. -2* camber and 1/8" toe in in the rear. Seems to work well. No tramlining or other issues.
