There’s 1 to 5 solenoid number flow range. Each one is within 5% of each other. Zero damage can be done by running a 1 in a 5 location, or vice versa. Strategy programming only does one thing, it gets the adaptive shifting operation range closer to ideal with less driving time. IE: 30 minutes or driving time VS. 3-4 hours. There are some sources that say a mismatch in strategy will cause issues, other places that don't always change it and don't have issues. I would make sure it is correct to be safe, cost to much to rebuild them.
Didn't realize that. When I was having issues I had found several YouTube videos from shops working on f150 10r80s indicating damage will occur if you don't adjust, and then transmission builders that are considered top in the industry say it doesn't matter. Of course thier transmissions usually only do 1/4 mile at a time, and dont really care about adaptive learning. I know why it doesn't matter now, thanks. There’s 1 to 5 solenoid number flow range. Lund doesn’t do any of theirs nor requires any of their customers to bother with it as well.Didn't realize that. I went through 2 built ones really fast (2nd one I got replaced no charge), and at that point I figured I'd do anything to increase my odds. I do have a spare built now, and Will probably keep doing that until I give in and get the 400.Lund doesn’t do any of theirs nor requires any of their customers to bother with it as well.
I’ve had a few different trannys/valve body’s in, and never bothered myself. Always drove and shifted the same within a few hours of driving. I was doing some diagnostics so I started using FORScan, so I figured I’d put in my latest strategy in it while I was using it.
My current one is coming out and I’m going through it myself this time. 1600 miles and it’s acting up. Can’t get any trustworthy work these days. No idea on the history of the core they used, and now I believe it has a bad bushing/seal or even maybe a hairline crack in the A drum.I went through 2 built ones really fast (2nd one I got replaced no charge), and at that point I figured I'd do anything to increase my odds. I'd like to learn, might see if I can pay someone to teach me.My current one is coming out and I’m going through it myself this time. 1600 miles and it’s acting up. Grab a spare to throw on the bench and the ASTG 6R80 book. Watch a lot of videos, and do some random reading. They are way easier than you think.I'd like to learn, might see if I can pay someone to teach me.
