Bought a wrecked 17 GT with steering wheel airbags blown. Replaced the bag, got the module repaired and replaced the clock spring twice with a matching part number clockspring. Now the steering wheel controls do not work. Am I missing something? The controls still functioned with the original clockspring buy the airbag wiring was toasted.

Did you replace it with a brand new clock spring? Also, Ford revises their parts all the time. Did you order and use your VIN for a proper match? Something is different. Also be sure to align the new clock spring by rotating the connector and counting the number of turns. Then divide by two and rotate back by that number. This is the center position with the wheels pointed straight ahead.

I removed one from a 17 GT which I have which had the same part number and options. The other one was used. All three had the same plug pin count and plug pin locations. Centered but not driven or turned yet.

Unless you personally verified these used parts were working before they were removed, I would say they are suspect. For things like this, it's better to just pay more and buy a new one.
