yeah it still works.

Are you talking behind the Ford logo?

I had it behind a similar surface on my last car; I have the small plastic removable one now and just keep it in the glove box. Just use a small piece of tape to test it to be sure.

No, I'm talking about behind a strip of tint that is added to the front windshield. I'll be adding a strip that is as low as the black center piece. I then want to stick the transponder to the newly added tint. Once it's put on, there's no taking it off. AND, it has to be stuck on to work, so there is really no way to test it.

If it doesn't work, I'll have to destroy it to remove it. And I'm sure it'll ruin the tint, too.

I'm going to try it behind the logo tomorrow for my commute. I should be able to see on the website if it registers.

I miss the black brick e-pass that you could tuck under your bumper.

It should work no matter where you put it on the wind shield it's a transponder and the RF will go though tint and the logo on the wind shield with out an issue. A metal (tint) strip would probably cause interference.

David... let us know if it works! :)

I don't think they work until it is actually stuck to the windshield. And once you stick it to that black part, if you try to take it off (if it doesn't work), is it going to pull off the black?

So it worked. The transponder that I'm dealing with actually came out of my last car so it's not quite as sticky as a fresh one but it has been working on the windshield of the Mustang. I just moved it behind the Ford Logo. It looks better than it did but you can see it peeking through.

I went to few of those meets a few years ago when I went to USF, has an interesting history to say the least.

I ended up not going but know several who did. It was their largest turnout ever; well over 500 cars, some said close to 1,000. It was talking 45-90 minutes just to get in the lot and park.

Needless to say, I'm glad I didn't go. :)

Yeah the meets used to take place at the top of the student parking garage near the library, it was still pretty small then, maybe 150-200 cars, I had went a few times because I lived right there haha. It was nice when it was mainly students who attended, but it got pretty big and a bit out of control.

Wasn't there someone looking to sell their FRPP Touring exhaust in the area?

If so, is it still available?

Anyone in Florida with a Valentine V1 that can comment how it does with the state troopers, county sheriff deputies etc? Are they using laser exclusively? I've been using Waze on my commute on the 429 which is actually pretty accurate but not always accurate on back roads and such.

I can't speak for the V1, but I've been using an Escort 9500ix for years and have only seen Laser once on I-4 near Kissimmee. I never saw the car, so I can only assume it was FHP. I do a LOT of driving between Tampa and Daytona and at least once a month to the West Palm / Miami area.

If you haven't considered it, look into the 9500ix. The GPS function and ability to lock out specific frequencies (lane change radar) is a huge bonus. Between this radar and Waze, I have little concern of getting a ticket in most circumstances.

All this could be avoided if you didn't speed!
