If the center bore on an aftermarket rim is a larger diameter than stock is there any major risk in mounting them? I hear some say that the center bore is just to make it easier to line the rim up when installing the lug nuts but I'm not too sure how true that is. Or are there any adapters that will fill in the gap?

mass majority of the wheels made that work on these cars use a few different cb sizing

72.62 73.1 or 74.1 so that being said youll need a hubring . The S550 hub size is 70.5 mm so when you get aftermarket wheels whoever you get them from should and hopefully will provide them to you.

Using a hubring is not a bad thing, I use it on my dd without issues and a mass majority of people with wheels use them as well. Aslong as its the correct size you wont have any issues.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays = )
