My check engine light (CEL) came on and I think I started noticing a very subtle amount of hesitation or surging at low rpm. Around 1800 to 2000. Just before I got it into the dealer for service, I thought I felt the surging a little more and the CEL started flashing for about 30 seconds before it stopped and remained solid again. Dealer called and said he is getting light oil residue in the exhaust smoke and thinks I have a bad catalytic converter. Part is a week out of course.
I don't know what the codes were, but can probably get that tonight. He also said he wasn't positive this was the issue but wants to swap them out and have me drive it for a while.
Just wondering if this lines up and makes sense to you folks? Anyone else have Catalytic issues?

thanks!

did you smell rotten eggs really strongly? usually that and hesitation will deff mean a cat .. oil in the exhaust and smoke i think would be something else. fuel in the exhaust and smoke would be cat. if im not mistaken

I got a check engine light last week and just took my GT350 in to the dealer. He says it is the cats and there is a TSB for it. They are going to retest the car in the morning when the air temp is cooler and see if they can replicate the CEL. Then they will order new cats. This is the first I've heard of this issue.
