Just wondering if anyone has a set of the factory GT cats laying around they could measure? Or if you're gonna have your car on a lift for something else maybe take just a minute to measure the cat diameter and length?

I'm doing long tubes on Saturday. I'll try to get some measurements.

I'm a little surprised no one asked if I needed the tail included or if it matters if it's long hair or short hair

What are you doing with the oem cats after you get the LT's installed?

I wish there were some long tubes w/ high flow cats that won't throw a CEL or require a tune

Nothing, you interested? I have the complete factory cat back with welded in xpipe also.

The driver side cat would have to be cut off the manifold.

The cats themselves are 6" in diameter, and 7" long. Not including flanges or pipe.

Thank you!!! That's the info I was looking for. I have to look at my notes when I get home, but I'm pretty sure my V6 cats measure 8" long (also not including flanges or pipe), not what I was expecting, I would've thought the GT cats were at least the same length. They are wider though, the V6 cats are only around 4 - 4.25” diameter.

Now I just have to figure out if the extra 2" width would improve flow enough to make it worth the trouble of welding them into pipes to fit the V6. Unless I can get the GT cats for next to nothing, I suspect that answer is no, and regardless of cost I realize it may not make any difference in performance at all. If the only noticeable change ends up being a louder and/or lower exhaust tone I'd probably be happy with that, but that's a discussion better left for a new thread in the V6 section :D

If you want a little louder and better flow replace them with straight pipe;) lol all cats no matter what do NOT flow well. Not even the "high flow" aftermarket ones.
