Currently looking into Mak Cat Deletes, but wondering if a shop would be able to create similar piping and keep the O2 sensors for a cheaper price than $400(+$150 install)? I realize that im cheaping out already by doing cat deletes instead of longtubes but its a much easier install process than the latter.

Thanks.

You likely won't find a shop that will delete the cats since it's illegal. If you do it prob will be mild steel. The MAK's are $400 because they are stainless steel.

Will probably be hard to get a shop to do the piping work. I would just get the MAK pipes as they're already designed to fit perfectly. The labor that a shop would charge you to measure and figure out the piping would end up costing you as much as just buying the proven delete pipes to start.

I can't agree with the above though, MAK deletes are a great alternative to headers and significantly cheaper . Headers will be almost $1700 with install versus $550 for the cat deletes. The difference between the two has been tested to be about 7hp. $1200 for 7hp? No thanks.

I bought a used set of cat deletes. driver side factory header with stainless pipe in place of the cat and passenger side midpipes with stainless pipe in place of the cat. Someone must've had it done at a muffler shop I'd guess, but it looks like nicer quality work than most muffler shops do. Plus, it's illegal for road use so it's probably tough to find a shop to do it. Like I said, I bought mine used....if I hadn't found a good deal on these pieces I would've gotten the MAK kit.

Find a speed shop, in the end though your prices are gonna come out about the same either way

Sounds like a plan!

As others said it may be hard finding somewhere to do the install as a street car needs cats due to federal law. MAK is based in FL though so you may be able to have them do it
