Can you upgrade just one axle?

I broke my driver side axle and though about just upgrading that one axle. Curious if that’s technically possible or if it would cause an issue. Just don’t feel like spending $1000 on a set right now.

I would just put a stock one in again if you can't do both.

+1 upgade both or replace with stock. You wouldn't want two different size/weight rotating pieces on either side.

I know the GT350 OEM axles are actually different thicknesses - I would assume RH would be heavier. It's the thicker one in the picture.

After reading another of these threads am curious did anyone ever come up with the reasoning of different axle thicknesses?

The way the engine torques over and which side sees the most stress (RH) Would be my guess, especially since the 1000HP aftermarket axles, after looking at pictures it appears they are different thicknesses as well.
