...I may be joining you. Shocked today how much I liked Kona in person. One question though:

After swearing off black cars after my last one, Kona’s got me wondering...does it constantly look dirty like all black cars have a Tendency to do?

I have zero free time and may daily it...can’t do the “Wash, drive five minutes, look filthy again’ thing anymore. I like how silver cars look clean after a dust storm, but damn, Kona is badass!

Thanks!

I have the real Kona Blue, 2011 Mustang GT, It will show dirt but not as bad as Black. The Kona Blue that Ford uses today is not really the same as the original.:)

A California Duster is your friend. Use daily, followed occasionally with a good spray detailer. Really cuts down on how often you have to wash the car.

Depends on how OCD you are. It won't be as bad as black. A CA duster is just going to scratch up your paint. I'd rather have a layer of dust in-between washes than swirl marks.

I drive mine Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Averaging two driveway hand car washes per month. I know what you mean about Black and I haven't felt that way yet.

I wish I would have went with silver. Kona does looks awesome when it's clean though. If I leave my car out for even a few hours in my neighborhood it gathers enough yellow pollen it looks like crap. I've never been OCD about a car before and this color has made me that way.

Darker the color the more dust etc shows as you are aware. I DD mine and hand wash weekly. If it gets too much for my OCD I run through a good touch less wash near me and do a quick dry and deal with the bit of detailing when I can. Good coat of wax and a lot of the pollen seems to blow off with a bit of driving but... sure looks great in the sunlight.
At times I too wish I had gone with silver...

Yes, it looks dirty fairly quick, especially if you drive through a dusty area.

Doesn't make it any less awesome of a color though.

I have used a California duster for years on several dark colored cars. Never a scratch from the duster. You don’t scrub with it, just a light touch and shake it out often. And don’t use it on a really dirty car.

I daily mine and find that the Kona does start to show up dirt etc fairly quickly. However, a quick application of snow foam and a jetwash is all that's needed to get it back to looking awesome.
