6,495 seems pretty reasonable to me considering:
Two turbos
Two wastegates
Two BOVs
Two airfilters
Intercooler
Scavenge pump, mandrel, bracket, belt, and tank
Hot and cold pipes
Clamps and couplers
Vacuum, boost, and oil lines
Employee costs to initially engineer the kit
Employee costs to weld...
Appreciate all the honest feedback. I'd assumed that on a new trans it'd take awhile to get things dialed in, which is why I was waiting awhile before jumping in. The car drives really nice stock so hard to want to screw that up, but some more power would be nice.
A better comparison of efficiency would be to see how much fuel each combo would consume (turbo vs blower) to reach the same horsepower level. There is no denying turbo is where it's at though if efficiency is your goal. There is a reason people selling fuel systems rate them for more HP on...
So before loading the whipple tune, find somebody with an hptuners setup and pull the stock file. Then store that guy away for when it comes time for a custom tune?
Wanting to get people's thoughts that have had experience with the canned whipple tune on 2018+ autos. I am looking into a stage 2 setup and would be running whipple's canned tune for quite awhile. Any problems with drivability? I've read about some cruise control problems, and possibly some...
I'm assuming the 1194hp car mentioned is the one in this article. The pic of the dynograph in the article says a 1.27 correction factor so the car actually only made 940hp. That is why I don't like correction factors sometimes, it makes people think things like stock valve springs held up to...
Was your car dyno'd in Albuquerque? If so your car didn't actually make 1194hp. There is probably a large correction factor on you dyno sheet inflating the cars actual output which is probably around 950hp. Still a decent amount more than the OP though
I wish I would have went with silver. Kona does looks awesome when it's clean though. If I leave my car out for even a few hours in my neighborhood it gathers enough yellow pollen it looks like crap. I've never been OCD about a car before and this color has made me that way.
Probably not because I would think there isn't a large correction factor on their dyno results like on the hellion numbers.
I agree with Hellion that at sea level their kit will make big power, it is still misleading though to say it made 1194hp when it actually only made 940hp at the roller...
Mine hangs at high RPMs in drag mode if I'm not wide open throttle. Example when I'm done playing and let out of the throttle a bit it'll stay up in the RPMs. I just hit the toggle back into normal mode and it upshifts like normal.
I tried drag strip mode on the way home from the dealer, and...
I had the intention of buying a manual this time around as a fun street car. I've had both an MT82 and 6r80 car in the past. I test drove the new 10spd though and ended up driving home with it. Not sure how many dealerships will let you test out the Drag Strip Mode but if they will give it a...
