Some modelers have used translucent color paints to change the led color. Sort of like a filter.

That's what has always made MyColor pretty stupid, IMO, ever since they put it on the '05. If I can't change all the lighting accents in the car, it makes no sense to be able to change any of them. Once again a lack of common sense on Ford's part.

I might try to track down a specialist in my local area that can replace the LED's to white ones. I'll remove the buttons and give them all to him to swap the LED's.
The job looks super tedious!

Will do it in the fall, more important mods to do!
I'll update this thread when I dive into this project.

If MyColor can't change buttons backlight, then it loses pretty much it's value. I mean it doesn't really look nice if different parts of the car are using different color for lights. So basically Ford could have totally left out the MyColor thing and you wouldn't really have missed much.

I would try a colored transparent film, (color of your choice) between the led and the buttons, stuck to the back side of the button, not the led. Q TIP AND SOME ELMERS GLUE on the film edge to hold it to button, install and see if you like it. if so, then use a better glue to install them.
Done. No need to swap out the surface machine installed on board leds

I haven't done it to this car, but I did do this exactly to my old S197. Swapped all the LEDs on the steering wheel, window switches, center console, etc. Even the factory radio I switched from the ugly factory green to red lights. While it wasn't super difficult, It is time consuming. As long as you're halfway decent with a soldering iron though it's not that big of a job really.
