This is how I have broken in my last 2 new cars and motor bike and they all go/went very well with no oil use. Some people may feel scared to do what they recommend but I have not had any problems and the vehicles have had lots of power and went really well with no engine problems.
Very interesting page - I guess we just ignore the 'dealer miles' and hope they thrashed it a bit?

Meanwhile an oil change as soon as possible and some good 2nd gear pulls, then wait for first service to get rid of it?

Crap... I was breaking the engine and not breaking in....
I redlined my car at round 500km on the clock so that I could see the dials turn red.

The only thing I didn't do was bounce it off the limiter, or hard launch.

Other then that had it up to 170km/h'ish on the first weekend. Doesn't use much oil from what I see, just added a catch can at 7,500km. A bit later than planned but everythings coming along ok.

I've seen 8.8L/100km on the freeway between Canberra and Sydney, and averaging about 12L/100km with mixed Sydney driving.

They're to be enjoyed, enjoy it!

I was going to ask this question too, but found this thread. I've been driving mine pretty normally for the past several days and have about 400 miles on it already. Haven't really got on it much to see how the 3.55 pulls. So when do you guys recommend a "spirited" pull? I'm thinking at least 500 miles or so.

I drove the back roads home 350 miles from Kentucky to Peoria, Il seemed to work everything out just fine. I tried to stay under 5K.my engine seems to run well and use no oil.

Broke my last coyote engine by driving it, fast slow, hard and soft. Just driving it.
