Not a brake pro by any means; normally I lease my cars and normally brakes last well through the lease, so I haven't changed brakes in over a decade probably.

But I'm down this path of modding the Mustang so, why not brakes now also?

I hear the little rubber nub or metal tab rubbing against the rotor lately. Was hoping it was the car next to me, but I'm pretty sure it's me (I'll check obviously before I pull any triggers).

Either way, I think I'm fine until it stops snowing which is hopefully just a few more weeks, but that doesn't mean I can't start looking!

problem 1 - While I have Steeda 20 inch rims waiting in the spare room for the snow to clear to be installed, in the winter, the stock 18s will have to go back on so I can use snow tires; so big brake kit is out I'm pretty sure.

not a bad price?

Is there any happy medium? A kit that'll fill a 20 inch rim nicely but still fit inside of the stock 18 rim? I'm just worried there will be to much visible space looking into the rim of a 20 with stock brakes. I see there are 2 major brands - Brembo and Wilwood other then OEM.

These look cool - say they'll fit a 17 rim. Why is the rotor 2 pieces? I have to assemble that I'm assuming? Loving the black piston though - that'll look good with the all black rim.

These don't mention rim size?

The car won't see a track, ever probably. Just some aggressive street driving here and there. So this is really just cosmetics / i need new brakes.

Can I get a quick layman explanation of slotted vs drilled? I know they help with dissipating heat. Will I blow through pads with drilled or slotted faster then just plane jain rotors?

Drilled are most likely to develp cracks. Just becuas they jave holes drilled in them doesnt mean they flow air. The cooling vanes inside the rotor do the majority of the work and they're angled correctly to flow air. The drilled holes are perpendicular to the airflow and really dont do much. Slotted is your best option if you must get something fancy for looks.
