Another update on the brake pad. Tried another dealer and they took apart and inspected the brakes. They found grooving in the rotor corresponding to the pad damage so they say it looks like something was caught between the pad and rotor, so it can't be covered. I don't know that I've heard of anything being caught between pad and rotor before, anybody else?

That’s a first!! I’ve never heard of that happening before.
you would have to be off-roading your car to get something stuck in there.

That’s a first!! I’ve never heard of that happening before.
you would have to be off-roading your car to get something stuck in there.
Yeah, it's a puzzler, not sure how in the world something would get in there.

Just got the car back from the shop; freshly painted yellow calipers. Took many coats of yellow caliper paint plus the final clear coat. They need to a little touch up on the front left caliper (sunlight showed a few defects on the paint levels), but overall they look fantastic. See pics.
